China announces a plan to support workers as AI changes jobs

China has announced a policy, but it has not shown any effect on employment yet. Officials’ economy-wide job totals cannot show how many jobs AI creates or displaces.
Watch for funded training, published standards and measured outcomes for workers. Those would show whether the initiative does more than announce plans to adapt to AI.
