Tempus reports AI study to help choose lung cancer biomarker tests
Tempus announced an analysis of 60,459 advanced non-small cell lung cancer cases across 56,969 patients on October 19. The company says its image-based panel exceeded 80% sensitivity for each of 12 biomarkers. The work is part of a collaboration with Pfizer.

These are company-reported research results. The panel is still in development and does not replace established molecular or immunohistochemistry tests. Sensitivity alone does not show how many positive predictions are wrong or whether patients receive better care.
Look for external validation, specificity, and evidence about follow-up testing. The key question is whether the panel helps clinicians choose the next test without missing patients who need it.
