Anthropic estimates that robots cost less than human labor for tasks covering just 0.3% of working time. Claude assessed the task requirements, robot capabilities and deployment costs used in the study.
These numbers come from company research. They do not measure job losses or predict that 34% of jobs will disappear. A robot that completes a task in one factory may fail in another workplace. Costs, physical skills, regulation and people's preferences can still limit adoption.
Deployment costs and hiring changes will show whether employers automate the tasks Anthropic identified.
