The model can produce up to one million tokens in one response. That number is an output limit. Google's introductory API prices are $2 for input and $10 for output per million tokens. The prices will rise to $4 and $20 after the introductory period.
Google supplied the performance and safety claims. The company says it is strengthening safeguards before a wider release, but it has not set a date. It also has not said when the introductory prices will end.
Once Google gives more people access, independent tests can measure Argon's performance and test its safeguards.
